Real world examples
Our network monitoring service can keep an eye on almost every element of your company’s IT. If it plugs in, we can probably monitor it.
Our service covers the basics like drive space, resource availability and email flow, but it is also important to monitor things like power, temperature and humidity.
Here are some real world examples of network monitoring in action:
Example 1
Business-class connections to the Internet are priced in tiers, but how do you know which tier is right for you?
Our monitoring service watches the amount of Internet bandwidth that your organization consumes. This information allows us to make recommendations on which tier is best for you. If you are paying $150 a month for a connection that you are only using 50% of, our service will point out that you can reduce your monthly cost by switching to a lower tier with no impact.
Along with bandwidth monitoring is the usual up/down notifications – know when your connection goes offline before everyone else does.
Example 2
Let’s suppose you have a large warehouse or you are in the hospitality business and have a number of access points providing a wireless network to a large area.
Network monitoring will keep tabs on every access point so you know when there is a problem. Our customer dashboard includes a map of your equipment so you know which area is impacted.
Example 3
In a typical scenario, network monitoring is as simple and effective as:
1) Our service detects that a piece of equipment has a problem. This could be your Internet connection, drive space on a computer or server or toner in a printer.
2) An alert is sent out including details of the problem. If you are a do-it-yourselfer, you know have the information required to correct the problem. If you have support with WesTechs or another technology partner, they will be notified of the problem so they can begin resolution.
3) The problem is resolved.
All of this means you can quickly and effectively respond to problems and keep the focus on running your business.
